We are seeking a skilled Commercial Account Handler to join our client’s established broking team. About the Role
As a Commercial Account Handler, you will be the trusted advisor and primary point of contact for our commercial clients. From understanding their unique risk profiles to negotiating the best terms with underwriters, you will manage the complete insurance lifecycle while ensuring every client receives tailored, compliant, and expert service.
What you will be doing:
- Managing client relationships - Building trust and becoming the go-to insurance expert for your portfolio of commercial clients
- Handling the full policy lifecycle - From quotations and new business through to mid-term adjustments and renewals
- Risk assessment and advisory - Analysing clients’ businesses to identify coverage gaps and recommend improvements
- Negotiating with underwriters - Securing optimal terms and coverage for your clients
- Ensuring compliance - Keeping policies aligned with FCA regulations and industry standards
- Identifying opportunities - Spotting chances to enhance coverage and grow client portfolios
- Quality assurance - Maintaining meticulous documentation and conducting peer reviews to ensure accuracy
What We Are Looking For
- Strong commercial insurance knowledge across products, underwriting principles, and FCA regulations
- Proven experience as an account handler or similar client-facing commercial insurance role
- Acturis proficiency - you are comfortable navigating the platform daily
- Exceptional attention to detail - accuracy in policy documentation is critical
- Outstanding communication skills - both written and verbal, with clients and underwriters alike
- Client-focused mindset - you genuinely care about understanding businesses and solving their insurance challenges
- Team player - collaborative, supportive, and committed to shared success
- Cert CII or Dip CII qualification (or working towards it)
- Experience across multiple commercial sectors
- Track record of client retention and portfolio development
