About the Role

As Management Accountant within our FP&A team, you'll take ownership of accurate financial reporting to both external and internal stakeholders while continuously improving how we deliver insights to the business. Working closely with the Finance Reporting and Planning Manager and Assistant Management Accountant, you'll ensure the accuracy and integrity of our management reporting while using your improvement mindset to identify opportunities to enhance our processes and reporting suite.

This isn't just about producing month-end reports – it's about using your technical skills and curiosity to create meaningful dashboards, streamline workflows, and provide the financial intelligence that drives better business decisions.

What you'll be doing

  • Power BI Dashboard Management - Maintaining, innovating, and creating new dashboards that deliver actionable insights to stakeholders, including monthly CFO presentations
  • Month-End Ownership - Managing payroll journal postings, balance sheet reconciliations, and management accounts preparation with complete accuracy
  • Variance Analysis - Working with the FP&A team to monitor, analyse, and explain variances to optimize funding use
  • Stakeholder Reporting - Preparing external reporting packs for government departments, internal packs for business units, and KPI reporting
  • Process Innovation - Identifying and implementing improvements across financial processes, particularly in payroll sign-off and reporting workflows
  • Year-End & Audit Support - Contributing to financial accounts preparation, trial balance submissions, and audit queries
  • Cross-Team Collaboration - Partnering with colleagues across Finance, Procurement, and the wider business to deliver business outcomes

What We're Looking For

  • Qualified or finalist accountant (CIMA, ACCA, CIPFA, ICAEW, ICAI, ICAS or equivalent)
  • Commercial finance experience, including management reporting and variance analysis
  • Business intelligence tools experience - you've used BI tools to develop data visualisations
  • Strong Excel skills and experience with ERP systems
  • Process improvement mindset - you naturally spot opportunities to streamline and enhance
  • Proactive ownership - you take responsibility for your work and deliver quality on time
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement - you build relationships across the business and communicate clearly
