Kitchen Theory is a London based design studio with an award-winning experiential Chefs Table. Our team works in collaboration with leading scientists & psychologists to research multisensory flavour perception and push the boundaries of gastronomy, creatively applying the results in innovative commercial, artistic and altruistic projects. At our experience design studio in Holborn (WC1N), we design and host multisensory dining experiences. We work with global brands (from fashion and cosmetics to cars, tech, and beverage manufacturers) on creating bespoke food and drink experiences.
We are currently looking for a new team member to join us in the kitchen. This is an ideal role for a current sous chef or highly experienced CDP looking for their next move up. Day to day tasks will fall into supporting in the following areas:
- Working on the preparation and service for Chefs Table supper club and corporate events.
- Work with the team on creative menu development & testing.
- Manage the BOH team, providing guidance, training, and development opportunities.
- Coordinating with the admin team on event organisation and execution.
- Stock management: monitoring and replenishing stock of consumables and perishables.
- Working with suppliers to ensure the use of fresh, seasonal ingredients.
- Maintain strict adherence to health and safety regulations and correct food safety regimes.
- Demonstrate excellent organization, IT, costing, and administration skills to effectively manage kitchen operations.
- Manage the team to deliver exceptional culinary experiences.
- Interact with guests in our open kitchen environment, showcasing great people skills and presenting well.
- Stay trend-aware and incorporate innovative techniques and concepts into menu development.
Requirements:
- Appropriate work visa (if required).
- Must have London/UK work experience.
- Must have background in Michelin-starred or two-rosette establishments in UK.
- Technically proficient with a knowledge of modernist cooking methods and ingredients.
- IT literate (mainly Microsoft Word, Excel and Teams, Outlook).
- This is a client facing role that requires great attitude and excellent verbal communication skills in English.
- Must be highly organised and resourceful.
- Stable work history with a flexible mindset and a dynamic, can-do attitude.
- Ability to motivate, train, and develop kitchen staff effectively.
