Due to continued organisational growth and internal development opportunities, we are excited to be recruiting for a Life Practitioner to join our well-established Children’s Residential Home team at Tigh Abaid, located in the peaceful rural village of Langford, within the Newark and Sherwood district of Nottinghamshire.

As a Life Practitioner, you will play a vital role in supporting young people with complex needs. Key Responsibilities:

  • Actively safeguard and promote the wellbeing of the young people in our care, working collaboratively with the wider staff team.
  • Engage in a variety of enriching and inclusive recreational activities, both within the home and in the wider community.
  • Support day-to-day living, including practical tasks such as cooking, cleaning, and household duties.
  • Build meaningful, respectful, and trusting relationships with the young people—offering them consistent support and dignity at all times.
  • Respond to and meet the individual physical, emotional, behavioural, and cultural needs of each young person.
  • Maintain clear, accurate, and up-to-date records in accordance with care plans and organisational procedures.
  • Monitor, review, and adapt support in line with the evolving needs of the young people.
  • Positively contribute to team development and a supportive working culture.

About You:

What experience and qualifications do you need:

  • A genuine passion for care and to be motivated by contributing to the progression of others.
  • A strong team player.
  • Resilience to keep going at difficult times and to ask for support if needed.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Computer literacy.
  • A Diploma Level 3 in Young People’s Workforce (or equivalent) or a willingness to complete this qualification within a fixed timeframe.
