Youth Worker - The Role: As a Youth Worker, you will deliver informal learning in a welcoming, inclusive environment focused on social aspects of learning through activities, conversation and interaction. You will plan and deliver engaging one-to-one support and group workshops to young people with learning disabilities and autism. Activities range from arts and crafts to sports, music, dance, drama and cooking, creating fun environments where young people can practise social behaviour and develop personally. Youth Worker - Key Responsibilities: - Deliver youth work projects and programmes that help young people develop personally, socially and educationally whilst empowering their independence - Establish positive relationships with all young people, supporting and enabling them to increase their confidence and realise their potential - Identify the formal and informal educational, social, cultural and recreational needs of members and plan innovative activity programmes that promote personal development - Work as part of a team coordinating engaging activities across a variety of different projects Youth Worker - You: - A naturally caring and enthusiastic person with a fun personality, fantastic communication skills and good sense of humour who works well as part of a team - Experience of working with children or young adults who have learning, social or physical disabilities - Knowledge of safeguarding requirements and experience organising events or coordinating projects - NVQ Level 2 or 3 in youth work or equivalent qualification (desirable) Benefits: - 21 days holiday increasing with length of service, plus 8 bank holidays - Pension scheme through NatWest Cushion - Blue light card offering access to over 15,000 discounts from national and local retailers - Eyecare benefits via Vision Express - Long service recognition, reward and employer referral bonus - Employee Assistance and Wellbeing Programme with free access to independent advice, support and counselling - Training, development and career progression opportunities This post is subject to an Enhanced Disclosure application to the Disclosure and Barring service if you are successful after interview.
