About the role
Kirwee Model School seeks a student-centred teacher to join our collaborative team in 2027. We seek an educator who leads with manaakitanga, balancing high expectations with strong relationships so every child feels a genuine sense of belonging.
Key requirements
- Curriculum and acceleration expertise: Proven ability to deliver explicit instruction and targeted small-group mathematics acceleration using evidence-based frameworks (such as the 6-step Rollins Acceleration Framework), along with strong foundational literacy and numeracy.
- Adaptability and flexibility: Ability to transition seamlessly between classroom release coverage and specialised mathematics acceleration blocks across different year levels, bringing a versatile \"reliever toolkit\" when required.
- Data-driven and diagnostic: Skilled in using immediate diagnostic skills assessments and continuous formative checks to notice, recognise, pin down misconceptions, and respond to student learning needs.
- Cultural and social focus: Committed to Te Tiriti o Waitangi, Te Whare Mauri Ora hauora framework, School-Wide Positive Behaviour for Learning (SW PB4L), and restorative practice.
- Collaborative spirit: A proactive team player dedicated to professional trust, direct dialogue, and working collaboratively alongside leadership and classroom kaiako to build cohesive learning connections across our school.
