We are looking for an experiencedSpeech and Language Therapistto join our Therapies team, supporting a young person in Northampton.

This is an excellent opportunity to deliver specialist speech and language therapy as part of a multidisciplinary team, helping a young person with complex communication needs to develop functional communication skills, increase independence and thrive within their educational environment.

The Role

  • Deliver 1-hour direct Speech and Language Therapy sessions on a fortnightly basis
  • Develop and implement an individualised communication plan tailored to the young person\'s needs
  • Support the young person\'s communication across education,homeand community settings
  • Work collaboratively with education staff,parentsand other professionals to embed communication strategies into everyday activities
  • Promote an inclusive communication approach, recognising and supporting all forms of communication
  • Focus on meaningful, functional communication outcomes that improve participation and independence
  • Maintainaccurateclinical records, liaise with the wider multidisciplinaryteamand produce reports asrequired

About You

We\'relooking for someone who has:

  • HCPC registration as a Speech and Language Therapist
  • Experience working with children and young people with autism and complex communication needs
  • Knowledge of Developmental Language Disorder, speech sounddisordersand neuro-affirming practice
  • Experience supporting receptive and expressive language difficulties, socialcommunicationand sensory communication needs
  • Excellent communication, reportwritingand multidisciplinary working skills
  • A collaborative approach to working with families, educationstaffand other professionals
  • Experience supporting young people within educational settings would be highly desirable
