As our SEND services continue to grow, we are looking for an experienced and commercially minded Head of SEND to lead the development and expansion of this area of the business.

The Role

This is a key leadership position with responsibility for building, developing and scaling our SEND division nationally.

Working closely with the senior management team, you will develop the operational and commercial infrastructure required to establish a high-performing SEND service. You will lead our Regional Leads, develop strong relationships with local authorities and commissioners, and work closely with our recruitment and clinical teams to build the workforce needed to meet growing demand.

This is an opportunity to take ownership of a growing service area and play a significant role in shaping how KT Healthcare delivers SEND therapy services across the UK.

Key Responsibilities

• Work with the senior management team to develop and implement the commercial and operational structure for the SEND division.
• Establish effective systems, processes and governance to support a scalable, high-quality service.
• Lead and manage all Regional Leads within the SEND department, providing direction, support and accountability.
• Work nationally with local authorities, councils and commissioners to understand their SEND therapy requirements, priorities and commissioning models.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key local authority stakeholders and identify opportunities for partnership and growth.
• Work with Regional Leads to identify and secure framework agreements, approved provider status and other commissioning opportunities.
• Develop a clear national growth strategy, identifying areas of demand and opportunities to expand KT Healthcare's SEND provision.
• Work closely with the recruitment and clinical teams to develop and scale the SEND workforce, ensuring we have the operational and clinical capacity to meet demand.
• Support the development of new services and pathways in response to local authority and market needs.
• Monitor performance, capacity, financial performance and service delivery across the SEND division.
• Ensure services are delivered to a consistently high standard, with appropriate clinical, operational and quality governance.
• Contribute to the wider strategic direction of KT Healthcare as part of the senior leadership team.

About You

We are looking for an experienced senior leader who combines SEND expertise with strong operational, commercial and partnership skills.

You will ideally have:

• Significant senior leadership experience within SEND, children's services, healthcare, therapy, social care or a related environment.
• A strong understanding of the SEND landscape and local authority commissioning.
• Experience developing and scaling services, teams or business areas.
• Experience working with local authorities, commissioners and/or NHS organisations.
• A strong understanding of frameworks, approved provider lists, tenders and commissioning processes.
• Experience leading and developing regional or multi-site teams.
• Strong commercial awareness and the ability to identify and convert opportunities for growth.
• Experience working across clinical and operational teams, ideally with a good understanding of therapy services.
• Excellent relationship-building, communication and stakeholder management skills.
• The ability to operate strategically while also being comfortable getting into the detail and building processes from the ground up.
