Kirkstone Calibration is a growing independent business providing pipette servicing and calibration to pharmaceutical, biotechnology and laboratory customers throughout the UK.
We are looking for an experienced pipette calibration technician to join us in a permanent, flexible position. The role guarantees 13 paid contractual days in each calendar month. Working days will be scheduled flexibly according to customer demand and may vary from zero to five days in an individual week. Any days worked above 13 in a calendar month will be paid additionally.
The role
- Service and calibrate single channel and multichannel pipettes
- Diagnose faults and complete adjustments and repairs
- Produce accurate calibration records and supporting documentation
- Set up and operate calibration equipment at customer sites
- Communicate professionally with laboratory and quality teams
- Manage tools, spare parts and equipment while travelling
- Maintain consistently high standards of workmanship and customer service
Working arrangements
- 13 guaranteed paid contractual days in each calendar month
- Working days scheduled flexibly according to customer demand
- Individual weeks may range from zero to five working days
- The guaranteed monthly salary remains payable if fewer than 13 working days are scheduled
- Approved annual leave counts towards the 13 paid contractual days in the relevant month
- Any days worked above 13 in a calendar month will be paid additionally
- Flexibility to complete full working weeks during busy periods

- £19,800 guaranteed annual salary

- Good understanding of accuracy, precision and calibration procedures
- Excellent attention to detail and record keeping
- Professional and confident when working directly with customers
- Full UK driving licence
- Access to a reliable vehicle suitable for business travel
- Appropriate business use motor insurance
- Willingness to travel throughout the UK and stay away overnight
- Ability to work independently and manage customer site responsibilities
Experience working within pharmaceutical, biotechnology, laboratory or quality controlled environments would be advantageous.
