Are you an experienced engineer with a strong background in Section 38 and Section 278 agreements? This is an exciting opportunity to join our Section 38 and 278 Team as a Principal Engineer at a time of great investment and regeneration for the district. The team provides quality consultation on new developments across the Wakefield District. The main drives for the team are to encourage innovation through design and to ensure that development proposals meet all standards set out, ensuring the best provision of services to the existing and prospective residents and businesses in Wakefield. We are looking to appoint a Principal Section 38 and 278 Engineer to lead the team as they play a major role in the consultation process for highways within new developments throughout the District.
Key Responsibilities of the Role
- Project Management: Oversee the design and implementation of Section 38 and 278 projects, managing timelines, budgets, and resources effectively.
- Team Management: Lead and manage a team of engineers, fostering a collaborative and efficient working environment, setting clear goals, and ensuring team alignment with project objectives.
- Stakeholder Liaison: Act as the primary point of contact between developers, local authorities, and contractors, ensuring all projects meet statutory requirements.
- Technical Expertise: Provide guidance on engineering best practices, technical specifications, and quality standards for highway adoption and related infrastructure.
- Documentation & Compliance: Ensure all documentation complies with industry and regulatory standards, including preparation of technical reports, designs, and specifications.
- Mentorship: Support junior engineers in their development, promoting a culture of learning and continuous improvement within the team.
This role is based in the Wakefield One building in Wakefield City Centre at a time of exciting change and renovation across the city. As a member of the wider Regeneration and Economic Growth team you will be at the forefront of these historic projects.
