About the Role: We are looking to recruit a well organised, self motivated Housing Needs Panel Co‑ordinator to work as part of our busy Housing Needs Panel Team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • You will be required to process applications for additional priority on the housing register from a range of applicants including those with disabilities, complex needs and those living in supported housing, hospital and rehabilitation settings.
  • You will liaise with other services within the Council and external agencies to gather crucial information to support applications. This will require you to have excellent communication skills.
  • You will work as part of a team dealing with all forms of contact including face to face, telephone and electronic with both applicants and professionals.
  • The ability to co‑ordinate multi‑agency meetings, take detailed minutes, produce reports, statistical information and letters whilst meeting deadlines are essential requirements of this post.

Essential requirements:

  • Applicants can present in very difficult and stressful situations and need support and advice to resolve their housing difficulties.
  • You will need to be able to manage applicants who display a range of behaviours which can be challenging at times remaining focused on achieving the best possible outcome for the household.
  • The ability to prioritise and organise your workload efficiently is a vital part of this role as well as a real focus on the needs of the applicant ensuring an effective customer journey is maintained at all times.
