About the Role

An integral role within our Financial Service supporting the Finance Systems Manager in improving and developing the Council’s Core Finance Systems. The role requires knowledge and experience of Finance, Project management & IT skills; existing knowledge of Finance Systems is essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure that these financial systems are technically maintained through regular updates and hotfixes to ensure business continuity.
  • Manage new features, functionality, configuration changes, testing, report development, upgrades and support finance systems projects across council services and external suppliers to ensure minimal disruption to service delivery.
  • Lead on the development of new systems initiatives within Finance Management and across the Council (e.g. Self Service for managers), consulting and engaging with management and system experts.

What will be expected from me

  • Support system integrations, planning and managing changes to ensure smooth operation and reporting for Financial Systems that require up to 24/7 availability.
  • Implement innovative working to drive continuous and sustained performance improvements and efficiencies.
  • Develop new solutions and maintain current systems to deliver business‑critical functions, ensuring that the Council’s finances and resources are managed effectively.

Grade 8 – Grade 9, 37 hours per week, Permanent
