Join the Wakefield Council, Passenger Transport team as a Casual Driver Attendant providing a transport service for our most vulnerable citizens to ensure they can access the services they require, when they require them and in a safe and comfortable way whilst on transport to and from their homes.
If you feel that this is you then why not consider joining our pool of casual relief driver/attendants working as and when required to maintain our transport service. Passenger Transport provides a professional caring transport service to elderly citizens, disabled people, and children. This is a hands-on caring role which incorporates driving, assisting vulnerable people and associated administration duties.
If you feel you have the qualities needed for this demanding but rewarding role then we look forward to meeting you. As this is casual relief work there are no set days or hours, you will be asked if available to work when required, often at short notice to cover for our regular drivers or other transport needs.
The successful candidate must have a flexible approach to working hours and the ability to work to set guidelines. A current driving licence with several years driving experience is essential. A category D1 (9-16 seat minibus) driving licence is essential. Experience of operating adapted vehicles would be desirable. Candidates will be required to pass a MIDAS scheme minibus driving assessment.
