Be the welcoming face and organisational heartbeat of the Education Development Centre & Durham Leadership Centre. We’re looking for a proactive, highly organised, and people‑focused individual to join our team as an Administrative Officer. If you thrive in a busy environment, enjoy helping others, and take pride in keeping things running smoothly, this role could be your perfect fit.
What is involved:
- Front‑of‑house service – greeting visitors, supporting staff, and ensuring a professional and friendly first point of contact.
- Centre operations support – assisting the Leadership Centre Development Officer with the safe and smooth running of the building.
- IT and facilities coordination – providing basic IT support, managing room bookings, and maintaining essential health & safety records.
- Safety responsibilities – acting as Fire Marshal and First Aider (training provided if needed).
- Early Years Programme administration – supporting our Early Years Training Programme with high‑quality administrative assistance.
- Procurement tasks – raising orders for supplies and services for both Early Years and the Development Centre.
This is a non‑hybrid, office‑based role. You’ll be part of the team five days a week, ensuring consistent support for staff, visitors, and training events.
What will I need:
You’ll bring strong organisation and communication skills, a flexible, team‑focused approach, confidence using digital systems, and a clear commitment to confidentiality and delivering excellent service throughout your work. You will need a NVQ Level 3 in Business Administration (or equivalent). Please refer to the attached Person Specification for the full criteria.
