The predicted salary is between 47181 - 50269 Β£ per year.

We are looking for an experienced forward-thinking individual who is enthusiastic about delivering quality timely waste services. The Service Manager's role is to support the strategic environmental aims of the Council and to manage and organise our waste services to ensure:

  • High levels of service quality
  • Maximum cost effectiveness and efficiency
  • Adherence to all relevant Health & Safety Standards

To empower the waste Team Leaders to actively manage staff behaviour, absenteeism and performance in line with corporate processes. This individual will also be responsible for providing effective advice and support to the other service managers within Neighbourhoods and across the Council with regards to waste collection. This individual will be key to creating a dynamic flexible service that meets the needs of the residents and members.

The Council will be introducing weekly food waste collections in October 2027 and this individual will be required to lead on this project. The ability to write reports and policies to a high standard will be required in this role. This person will be an experienced people manager and bring new ideas on how the service can be improved and updated and bring in modern practices and technological ideas.
