About the Service
North Yorkshire Council have a national reputation for excellence, and we are looking for a Specialist Social Worker. As a Specialist Social Worker, you will be part of a small and committed team that is focused inthe fields of child sexual exploitation, criminal exploitation, missing and contextual safeguarding. The Specialist Social Workers are non-case however, requires you to have oversight and support Children and Families staff and wider partners to consider innovative approaches to complex casework.
About the role
Specialist Social Worker are integral in developing relationships and working alongside multi agency partners to ensure the right outcomes for children.
You will be given the opportunity to attend varied and bespoke training child sexual exploitation, criminal exploitation, missing, contextual safeguarding and private fostering furthering your own CPD as well as sharing learning within the wider workforce.
The specialist social work team is committed to work with children and their families/carers, using a range of solution focussed, strength-based relationship practice models, including Signs of Safety, Systemic theory and the Family Finding approach.
We are looking for an individual who can help us continue to offer a unique service and truly make a difference to the young people of our county.
It is an exciting time in Children and Young Peoples Services in North Yorkshire as we plan our approach in respect of the Families First Partnership Programme and how we will be responding to the social care reforms. Work is underway to plan our approach and implementations for 2027. As a result of this, some realignment may happen with job roles in the future, we want to be transparent about this in respect of this role.
