About the Role
North Yorkshire Council is seeking a Specialist Social Worker to support children and young people in the fields of child sexual exploitation, criminal exploitation, missing children, and contextual safeguarding. The role is non‑case based and focuses on oversight, support and partnership with the Children and Families team and wider agencies.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide oversight and support for Child and Family staff and multi‑agency partners.
- Develop and nurture relationships with stakeholders to achieve optimal outcomes for children.
- Attend training in child sexual exploitation, criminal exploitation, missing children, contextual safeguarding and private fostering.
- Share learning and best practice within the wider workforce.
Qualifications & Experience
- Relevant social work qualification and professional registration.
- Experience working in child protection or related safeguarding services.
- Strong ability to collaborate with multi‑agency partners.
- Commitment to solution‑focused, strength‑based practice models such as Signs of Safety, Systemic Theory and the Family Finding approach.
