We are currently seeking Leisure Attendants at Richmond Leisure and Wellbeing Hub. We currently have opportunities for full time (37 hours per week) covering daytime, evening and weekends; part time (ranging from 1hr a week up to 36hrs); and relief hours to cover staff annual leave and sickness (across seven days – Monday to Sunday).
As a Leisure Attendant you will work within North Yorkshire Council’s Leisure Services team to provide support, enhance and deliver ‘day to day’ operations of the leisure centre. The role involves supervision of customers, ensuring their safety and satisfaction, whilst following North Yorkshire Council’s policies and procedures at all times.
What we need from you:
- Hold a valid RLSS NPLQ qualification to ensure safe and effective lifeguard practice, and actively undertake mandatory regular training to maintain qualification standards and organisational protocols.
- Strong awareness of safeguarding procedures for children and vulnerable adults.
- Deliver excellent customer care, engaging with the general public and pool visitors in a friendly and professional manner.
- Thrive in a dynamic leisure environment, effectively managing shifting priorities and demands.
- Collaborate effectively as part of the lifeguard and leisure team.
- Use own initiative to handle daily tasks and maintain pool safety.
- Communicate clear, accurate, and assertive instructions to customers and colleagues using both verbal communication and standard pool signals.
- Resolve routine problems as they arise and proactively suggest ideas to improve service provision.
