Richmond Work Match employment brokerage service for the London borough of Richmond upon Thames and Wandsworth council is looking for a motivated business engagement and employment officer to join our successful team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a background in recruitment business and or development who enjoys building relationships, generating opportunities and delivering results.
Working as part of a small high performing team, you will develop relationships with employers, generate vacancies, match candidates to opportunities and provide sustainable employment. You will play an important role in contributing to local economic growth objectives by helping businesses access talent and residents access employment opportunities.
About the role
- Develop and maintain relationships with employers across Richmond upon Thames to generate vacancies and identify employment opportunities for local residents.
- Screen, assess and match suitable candidates to provide targeted support to residents throughout the recruitment process.
- Work collaboratively with employers, training providers and partner organisations to identify candidates and clients.
- Maintain accurate, good-quality records and performance data on both residents and clients in real time.
- Deliver against agreed performance targets and service outcomes and visibly contribute to local economic growth priorities.
Essential Qualifications, Skills and Experience
- Knowledge of end-to-end recruitment lifecycle (business development, vacancy generation, candidate sourcing, placement).
- Understanding of employer needs, workforce planning, and sector-specific recruitment challenges.
- Proven track record in recruitment or business development, identifying and winning new business/clients with evidence of generating opportunities and successful placements.
- Experience managing and growing employer accounts, including repeat business and long-term partnerships.
- Ability to respond effectively and efficiently to tight deadlines within a pressurised environment.
