Middlesbrough Council’s Public Protection Service is passionate about improving the lives and living standards of all its residents, protecting the environment, protecting consumer interests, and supporting a strong local economy. We are offering an exciting opportunity for an experienced Environmental Health Officer to join our Public Protection Service.
Working alongside other principal officers and service managers you will play a leading role within the Environmental Protection team, delivering key statutory functions. This includes the investigation and enforcement of environmental protection issues such as noise, air quality, land contamination, as well as public health concerns including waste accumulations and animal activities licensing. You will also work across the wider Public Protection functions and on corporate matters such as emergency planning.
We are particularly interested in candidates who have considerable knowledge and experience in these fields and who have proven skills, experience and qualifications in management and leadership.
