About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Occupational Health Adviser to join our high-performing nurse-led team. This part‑time role offers a varied and rewarding workload, supporting both North Yorkshire Council and our external partners. As an autonomous practitioner, you will:
- Deliver clinical advice on employment‑related health matters, including fitness to work, rehabilitation, and suitability for roles.
- Lead and support health promotion initiatives that enhance workforce wellbeing.
- Collaborate with managers and stakeholders to ensure occupational health advice is practical, effective, and aligned with organisational goals.
You’ll be part of a team that values quality over quantity—our OHAs typically manage no more than 5 cases per day, allowing time for thoughtful, impactful work.
What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for someone who is:
- A Registered General Nurse with a Degree or Diploma in Occupational Health.
- Experienced in case management and confident in clinical decision‑making.
- A strong communicator with a customer‑focused, solution‑oriented approach.
- Commercially aware, with an understanding of how occupational health contributes to organisational success.
Working Pattern & Location
We have the opportunity to offer either a 2 day to 4 day working week (15 hours to 30 hours respectively). You will generally work from home 1 day a week, with either 1 or 2 office days working from County Hall, Northallerton. There will be on‑site working required for the initial 2‑week induction period and periodically for face‑to‑face meetings and clinical supervision. Please highlight in your application if you have a preference between a 2, 3 or 4 day working week.
