We are seeking an Assistant Manager at North East Technology Park (NETPark) to support the effective delivery of business support and operational services. The role is central to ensuring the health and safety of staff, customers and visitors, while helping to create an environment where businesses can locate, grow and prosper within County Durham.

As NETPark Assistant Manager, you will support and deputise for the NETPark Manager, contributing to key decisions across all aspects of site operations, including finance, security, health and safety, cleanliness and maintenance. You will support the management of health and safety on site by reviewing risk assessments and emergency plans, checking contractor RAMs and overseeing permits to work, ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation. You will coordinate and plan building maintenance and other improvements to infrastructure facilities, carry out inspections, and monitor the condition of the park, including landscaping. You will also lead on reviewing and renewing contracts, ensure site security is effectively managed through close liaison with the security team and work with Council colleagues to ensure statutory obligations and policies are met.

What will I need?

  • Educated to NVQ 4 or equivalent qualification in a relevant discipline including Business and Finance, Economic Development and Project Management and/or substantial practical experience relevant to the post.
  • Practical experience in office management systems and processes within a customer-facing environment.
