Sandwell Museum Service is looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Museum Technician to support all aspects of the technical and practical aspects of running our museum sites and deliver a high standard of customer care and public service to visitors of all ages and cultural backgrounds.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the creative team to organise and deliver displays and activities to visitors, users, and the local community.
  • Realise team ideas with regards to designing, preparing, constructing, assembling and installing permanent and temporary displays and bespoke and interactive activities, and operate and maintain tools.
  • Safely handle, clean, pack, and transport museum artefacts, ensure health and safety procedures are followed, conduct risk assessments and support COSHH compliance.
  • Support the running and maintenance of the heritage attractions and community spaces.
  • Work flexibly with regular weekends, bank holidays and evening working.

Hours: 37 hours per week to a flexible rota including regular weekends and some evenings and bank holidays.

Salary: Band D, SCP 9-17 (£27,254 – £31,022 per annum)
