The Senior Policy Planner will work as part of the Planning Policy Team, contributing to the preparation of a new Local Plan for Maldon District under the new plan‑making system and supporting ongoing planning policy work.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, monitor and review planning policy across the district.
  • Conduct research and analysis to support the development of key policies and evidence base.
  • Assist in producing key policies, the Authority Monitoring Report (AMR) and other deliverables.
  • Support consultation and public engagement activities.
  • Collaborate with infrastructure providers, neighbouring authorities and Essex County Council on strategic planning matters.
  • Work closely with Development Management colleagues on significant development proposals.
  • Support Parish Councils in developing neighbourhood plans, manage Section 106 agreements and other ongoing policy work.
