Maldon District Council is working in partnership with Essex Shared Services to support the recruitment of the role of Development Management Team Leader, a full‑time position offering hybrid working with a minimum of 2 days in the office per week. The role is within the Council’s Development Management and Planning Enforcement team, part of the Place, Planning & Growth directorate. It involves overseeing a diverse range of planning work, providing professional leadership and mentoring to officers, and working closely with applicants, Councillors, stakeholders and local communities to ensure development proposals align with planning policy and support sustainable growth.

As an experienced and inspirational Development Management Team Leader you will lead a high‑performing planning team, deliver sustainable growth across the district, and help take a proactive approach to pre‑application advice and planning performance agreements. This is an excellent opportunity for a confident planning professional with strong leadership skills, sound planning judgement and a commitment to delivering an efficient, customer‑focused Planning service.
