Hyndburn is an attractive area set in the heart of Pennine Lancashire, within easy reach of Manchester, the lakes and the Coast. The Borough, comprised of Accrington and the surrounding Market Towns, is currently experiencing unprecedented levels of regeneration which is delivering real and substantial improvements to the quality of life in the area.
We are looking for an enthusiastic person to run our local land charges service. This will involve:
- Registering new local land charges with HM Land Registry and plotting sites accurately on their mapping system
- Keeping the Council's local land charges register accurate and up to date
- Administering CON29 enquiries and making sure customers receive accurate and timely replies
The post holder will need to work to deadlines whilst maintaining high levels of accuracy and a good attention to detail in accordance with Land Registry requirements. They will have a strong customer service ethos and the ability to communicate clearly with customers and their professional advisers. They will also work closely with HM Land Registry and officers in other council service areas who also contribute to the local search process.
The postholder must be able to work on their own initiative, able to understand and extract information from maps and be confident in using IT systems.
If you relish a challenge and take pride in providing excellent public service, we are keen to hear from you.
