The Mayor is looking to appoint a new Chief Executive who can work with him to achieve his bold and ambitious vision for Hull and East Yorkshire. The candidate will be driven to achieve tangible and positive outcomes for residents, businesses, visitors and investors in the region.
While the candidate will ideally have experience at a senior level in the public sector, the Mayor is also looking for candidates who have commercial and business experience who can build positive teams that are highly productive and care about high quality outcomes.
HEYCA is a Mayoral Strategic Authority with significant powers and funding to drive transformation across Hull and East Yorkshire. The Mayor’s focused portfolio areas are:
- housing and regeneration;
- transport, skills and new jobs;
- working with business and government to develop new investment portfolios;
- developing healthy communities.
The new Chief Executive will lead the organisation through its next development stage, and will be the Mayor’s principal adviser, helping to shape policy and delivery. You will have the capability and experience to act as the key interface with Central Government as part of the Devolution by Default principle and will be confident working with regional, national and international government departments, businesses and other stakeholders.
This role demands strategic vision, political acumen, and a deep commitment to public service. You will be responsible for robust governance, financial stewardship, and a culture of continuous improvement. We are seeking a dynamic and visionary leader who can bring credibility, energy, and strategic insight with a track record of delivering transformation in complex environments.
The role is politically restricted under the Local Government and Housing Act 1989 (as amended) and will be based full-time in Hull City Centre.
