Dean Bank Primary & Nursery School in Ferryhill, Durham, are seeking two enthusiastic and committed Teaching Assistants for a temporary contract until 31 August 2027. The successful candidates will start on 1 September 2026.
Employment Details
- Job type: Temporary contract (term‑time only + two additional weeks).
- Working hours: Term‑time only.
- Pay: £25,185 – £25,989 pro rata.
- Pay calculation: 40 weeks (term‑time plus 2 additional weeks) + annual leave (27 days for less than 5 years of service, 32 days for 5 or more) + 8 days public holidays = 47 or 48 weeks’ pay, paid in 12 equal monthly instalments.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Applicants must hold a qualification that meets the approved “full and relevant” criteria for Early Years qualifications and inclusion in staffing ratios.
- Must be able to converse at ease with members of the public and provide advice in accurate spoken English (customer‑facing duties).
- Successful candidates will be required to obtain an enhanced DBS disclosure.
