Science Intervention Teacher Casual contract – One year from the start. 100 hours minimum each year. Extra casual hours available to suit throughout the school year. Whole Time. Required to start as soon as possible.
Overview
The Woodlands EHN Team are seeking to recruit a qualified Science intervention teacher to educate pupils who are medically too unwell to attend school or accessing education through an EOTIS package. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a difference to the lives of young people and their families, supporting a child’s education until they are well enough to reintegrate to their school.
Responsibilities
- Teach Science, PHSE, and an option subject to medically unwell pupils.
- Support a child’s education until they can reintegrate to their school.
- Deliver a creative curriculum and raise standards and achievement.
- Maintain high expectations in all areas of school life.
- Show enthusiasm and drive in teaching.
- Be well organised, highly motivated and flexible when working independently or as part of a team.
Qualifications and Experience
- Skilled and effective teacher with enthusiasm and drive.
- Committed to working alongside a supportive and dynamic team.
- Experience of delivering a creative curriculum.
- High expectations in all areas of school life.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Well-organised, highly motivated and flexible.
Skills/Requirements
- Ability to converse at ease with customers and provide advice in accurate spoken English.
- Required to travel across all of County Durham.

- Family home.
- Durham County building (e.g., One Point, library).
- EHN Base (Sacriston or Leadgate).
- Mainstream/specialist school in County Durham.
