An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Family Hub Practitioner in the Best Start Family Hubs across Westmorland and Furness. This will include supporting delivery to improve outcomes of parents, carers, children and young people, through the delivery of group and 1-1 sessions.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, innovative and self-motivated individual with a high level of expertise and knowledge to deliver a programme of work that will make a demonstrable difference to our Family Hubs. This post will support our vision for every child and young person in Westmorland and Furness to have the best start in life, to grow, to thrive and to be prepared for a successful adult life.

The post holder will develop and deliver high quality universal and targeted activities and programmes, working with children and their families from pre-birth to 19 (25 SEND) both one-to-one and in groups, in settings and the family home.

Who we are looking for…

We are looking for individuals with strong people skills, including facilitation and negotiation, and excellent communication skills, both written, face-to-face and over Teams. We are looking for someone with knowledge and experience working with children, young people and families, as well as working with partners to improve outcomes. You will have experience of working with children and young people with SEND as well as measuring progress to evidence outcomes. You will need the ability to prioritise and manage work effectively, and be comfortable working both independently and as part of a team. You will also have experience of collaborating across teams and partners to achieve positive outcomes for families.
