We are looking to appoint a temporary (18 months) part‑time Clerical Officer/Receptionist within Business Services to provide a professional, effective, and efficient receptionist service and general administrative support to visitors, callers, users and members of the Families First and One Point Services. The post will be primarily based at our CYPS Newton Aycliffe office but will also be required to cover other offices in the Newton Aycliffe, Ferryhill and Tudhoe area when needed. This is a non‑hybrid role.
Responsibilities
- Reception duties
- Dealing with incoming and outgoing correspondence
- Telephone answering and message taking
- Ordering
- Data entry
- File management, including scanning and archiving
- Typing duties including the production of posters and display materials
- Arranging transport
- Issue and recording of petty cash transactions
- Booking rooms and diary management
Qualifications
- 4 GCSEs (A–C grades including English Language or Literature) or an NVQ Level 2 in Business (or equivalent)
- Application of a Disclosure and Barring Service Enhanced Disclosure
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines with a high degree of accuracy
- Well‑organised, flexible, with good IT skills and the ability to manage changing priorities
- Ability to work independently, using one’s own initiative
Benefits
Salary: Grade 3 £25,185 – £25,989 Pro rata (Pay award pending).
