School Crossing Patrol Officer Chelmsford, Essex – 7.5 hours per week, term‑time only (up to 6 months) Pay £13.46 PAYE / £17.24 Umbrella per hour
Responsibilities:
- Consider the needs of people with disabilities, especially mobility‑impacted individuals, when using the crossing point.
- Maintain regular contact with the schools whose students use the crossing.
- Assess risks at the crossing site, identify problems, and report defects to a supervisor.
- Assist in preparing reports on accidents, failure‑to‑stop incidents, and other events at the crossing site.
- Ensure all uniform and equipment provided are maintained in good condition and request replacements when required.
- Give clear signals to drivers when stopping traffic and keep traffic at rest until the road at the crossing is clear of pedestrians.
Availability:
45 minutes between 08:00 – 09:00 in the morning and 45 minutes between 14:45 – 15:45 in the afternoon, depending on site requirements.
