Frosterley Primary School is a small, two-class village school located in Frosterley, County Durham. It is part of a federation of six small rural schools that make up the Durham Dales Partnership. The governors and Executive Headteachers are seeking to appoint a committed, enthusiastic and highly adaptable teacher to join our friendly and supportive team. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a small rural school environment, where staff are dedicated to providing high-quality education and nurturing every child’s potential.
In the first instance, the successful candidate will have responsibility for teaching a mixed-age Key Stage 2 class of pupils from Year 3 to Year 6.

Key responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality teaching across the primary curriculum to a mixed-age class.
- Plan and prepare engaging lessons that meet the needs of all pupils.
- Use assessment effectively to track progress and inform teaching.
- Create a positive, well-managed classroom environment.
- Safeguard pupils in line with statutory guidance.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to support curriculum and school priorities.
- Communicate with parents and carers to support learning and wellbeing.
- Engage in ongoing professional development.
- Meet statutory duties under the Teachers’ Standards and STPCD.
