Over recent years we’ve established an impressive reputation as a Council with a strong sense of direction and an enviable record for improving services and getting things done. We now have an exciting opportunity for someone to join our team. We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed individual who, together with the Head of Finance, will deliver an effective and professional finance service across the Council.

You must have excellent financial technical accounting knowledge, whilst also possessing strong communication and financial management skills. You will be responsible for a range of financial and accountancy activities including:

  • Preparation of the budgets
  • Overseeing regular monitoring processes
  • Closure of accounts
  • Liaising with the auditors
  • Various ad hoc areas as required

The position will be challenging and will require strong financial analysis skills and input in reporting for various stakeholders including Management Team, Service Managers and Members. Post holders will be a qualified, or working towards with significant relevant experience, CCAB or CIMA accountant.
