About the School
Acre Rigg Infant School is a large 2-3 form entry school with a popular nursery for two, three and four year olds.
It is a forward‑thinking, inclusive school where the well‑being and education of children are at the heart of everything we do.
Following our successful Ofsted inspection in May 2026 we seek a Headteacher who will continue to drive our shared vision of excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the school, demonstrating senior management experience.
- Drive whole‑school improvement with a proven track record.
- Develop and implement a strategic curriculum, ensuring the highest levels of teaching and learning.
- Communicate effectively and build a strong, cohesive school community.
- Support and nurture children in the school, fostering a caring environment.
- Provide leadership in academic, pastoral and management fields, and demonstrate evidence of successful change implementation.
Qualifications & Experience
- Senior leadership experience in a primary education setting.
- Proven track record of successful leadership, management and whole‑school improvement.
- Strategic thinking with a passion for curriculum development.
- Outstanding communication skills and experience building a strong school community.
- A caring leadership approach supporting child welfare.
- Capacity to lead high‑quality academic, pastoral and management practices.
- Experience with DBS disclosure process and safeguarding.
