Occupational Therapist

We’ll look to you to assess people’s capabilities, using a variety of approaches, and to help them find the motivation and support to progress. You’ll also guide and mentor colleagues, including Independent Living Assessors, and promote a culture of learning. At every step you’ll have the full support of our close-knit community team.

What you’ll bring

A qualified and registered Occupational Therapist, ideally with a community-based background, you’ll have significant experience of carrying out OT assessments for disabled people and their carers. As you’ll be dealing with people who have new diagnoses or injuries, you’ll need to be sensitive and empathic. At the same time, you’ll need well-developed powers of persuasion, as success in this role depends on finding out what motivates each patient and then making sure progress is achieved. You’ll also need to be comfortable working with electronic case management systems.

Position and Interview Details

This is a Fixed term role until 31st March 2027. Interviews will take place on 18th August 2026. This role will require the candidate to undertake an Enhanced Adults DBS and Adults Barred List.

Working Style

You’ll be based in the Borough for three days a week, playing a key role in serving the local community. The other two days a week we offer hybrid working from home. Whether you’re working on the frontline or behind the scenes, you’ll be part of a dedicated team making a real difference to residents’ lives.
