Responsibilities
- Supporting and maintaining network infrastructure (LAN, WAN, Wi‑Fi, firewalls)
- Monitoring network performance and proactively resolving issues
- Diagnosing and fixing network faults and incidents
- Assisting with upgrades, migrations and network improvement projects
- Supporting network security controls and responding to vulnerabilities
- Maintaining accurate technical documentation and network diagrams
- Working with suppliers and internal teams to resolve technical issues
Qualifications & Experience
- Experience working with enterprise network technologies (LAN/WAN/Wi‑Fi, firewalls, VPNs)
- Understanding of network monitoring, troubleshooting and performance optimisation
- Knowledge of network security principles and best practice
- Experience with network hardware such as switches, routers and wireless solutions
- Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills
- Good communication skills and ability to work with both technical and non‑technical colleagues
- Ability to work effectively in a live service environment
- Experience working in a public sector or complex multi‑site organisation
- Exposure to cloud or hybrid networking (e.g. Azure networking)
- Familiarity with tools such as Aruba, Fortinet, SolarWinds or similar
- Knowledge of Microsoft Teams Voice, SIP, SBCs, Direct Routing and call flow fundamentals
