Kirklees Council are advertising this role on behalf of KINGSLAND PRIMARY SCHOOL (Special). Kingsland School is looking to recruit a Compliance Officer for our highly successful two site school based in Stanley and Castleford. The successful candidate must be willing and able to work on either or both sites because the post does involve some cross site working. The successful candidate will ideally start as soon as possible. Following an outstanding Ofsted judgement in 2023 the school has further developed all aspects of provision for its pupils. The school caters for pupils from across the Wakefield District who have severe and profound learning disabilities. We are looking for a highly skilled, motivated and enthusiastic Compliance Officer to join our team. The successful candidate will join an excellent team of skilled and motivated staff who are committed to pupil progress and individual achievement. Key duties:

  • Ensure the school remains compliant in all relevant legal and statutory responsibilities for health and safety
  • Updating relevant policies and all site-based (not pupil specific) risk assessments
  • Acting as the main point of contact with the Council’s health and safety/compliance teams, and the Facilities Management provider
  • Monitor accident and incident reporting systems, identify trends, and report these to the Senior Management Team
  • Lead on pre-employment checks and administrative duties
  • Ensure the SCR is compliant
  • Support the SMT with the planning and organisation of staff INSET and routine/regular training

We are looking for someone who is professional when dealing with parents, staff, children and other stakeholders and has good interpersonal skills. Further, we are seeking someone who is highly motivated, hardworking and proactive. The successful applicant will be required to complete a Disclosure Application Form and to provide criminal conviction information.
