Advert Wording
Kirklees Legal Services is one of the largest legal practices in the area and carries out and commissions the legal work required by Kirklees Council.
The Council has exciting plans for the development and regeneration of our area and we are looking for a property lawyer to help turn our plans into reality.
The Real Estate Team is one of the specialist legal teams within Legal Services. The team act for the Council in property transactions both routine, such as commercial lettings and strip sales, and complex, strategic high value projects.
This role would be suitable to someone who could confidently hit the ground running with minimal supervision on a mixed caseload including sales, purchases, leases and other landlord & tenant matters. A file handover is likely be undertaken between the successful candidate and the substantive postholder for a period of 2 weeks, prior to commencement of their maternity leave.

It is essential that you are either a qualified Solicitor, licensed Conveyancer, Barrister or a Fellow of CILEX holding a current practising certificate, or a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives, or equivalent.
