Lunchtime Play Worker – New Mill Infant & Nursery School

Join the team at Kirklees Council for a temporary lunchtime play worker role at New Mill Junior and Infant School.

Hours: 6 hours Monday to Friday (1 hour 12 mins per day)

Location: Kirkroyds Lane, Holmfirth HD9 1LS

Contract: Initially fixed term to 31.08.2026, potential to become substantive.

Grade: 3

Start date: ASAP

We are looking for a positive role model who is patient, understands children, has strong communication skills and can work as part of a team.

Responsibilities

  • Provide practical support for pupils during lunchtime in dining hall and playground.
  • Help develop social skills through play and promote children’s physical and emotional wellbeing.
  • Support staff and governors to maintain a welcoming school community.

Qualifications

  • Experience or teaching qualification preferred.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Positive role model with patience and understanding.
