This role is initially offered on a 12‐month fixed‐term basis, with the potential to become permanent, subject to service requirements and review.
We are looking for an experienced, motivated and forward‐thinking Service Manager to lead on Continuing Health Care (CHC) and Section 117 Aftercare within Adult Social Care. This is a key leadership role, offering the opportunity to shape high‐quality practice, strengthen partnerships with health colleagues, and ensure people with care and support needs receive the right support at the right time.
About The CHC And Section 117 Role
You will play a vital role in ensuring people with complex needs receive lawful, well‐governed and person‐centred support. You will work closely with our NHS partners, finance colleagues and operational teams to deliver strong decision‐making, clear accountability and positive outcomes. Our focus is on collaboration, continuous improvement and confident practice, supported by clear governance and professional leadership.
What You'll Do
- Provide strategic and operational leadership for CHC and Section 117 activity across Adult Social Care.
- Ensure statutory compliance with national frameworks, legislation and local protocols.
- Lead on service improvement, quality assurance and practice development.
- Build strong, effective partnerships with NHS colleagues and internal stakeholders.
- Oversee governance, performance management and risk mitigation.
- Support financial oversight, including funding responsibilities and cost control.
- Lead, support and develop staff, promoting confident, consistent and legally compliant practice.
- Ensure people and families experience clear, fair and person‐centred decision‐making.
Who We're Looking For
- Substantial experience within Adult Social Care, Health or a related statutory setting.
- Strong knowledge of Continuing Health Care and Section 117 Aftercare.
- Proven leadership and management experience, including leading teams through change.
- A sound understanding of relevant legislation, guidance and national frameworks.
- Confidence in partnership working across health and social care systems.
- The ability to analyse complex information, manage risk and make defensible decisions.
- Excellent communication, influencing and problem‐solving skills.
