About the Role
- Work with young children to identify early gaps in development and learning.
- Plan and deliver targeted, high‑quality intervention programmes tailored to individual needs.
- Support pupils to make progress from their starting points, recognising that adapted provision may be required.
- Identify and reduce barriers to learning such as attendance, engagement, confidence, wellbeing and SEND.
- Work closely with teachers, SEND and pastoral teams, and families to provide coordinated support.
- Monitor progress, maintain clear records and contribute to reviews of impact.
- Liaise with external professionals where appropriate.
The Ideal Candidate Will
- Have experience working in a school setting, ideally within Early Years or Lower School.
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of early child development and SEND identification.
- Knowledge of a variety of communication approaches such as intensive interaction and the use of visuals.
- Understanding of sensory needs and impact on learning and regulation.
- Have knowledge of the EYFS Framework and KS 1 curriculum, including early reading and phonics.
- Be nurturing, proactive and solutions‑focused.
- Have high expectations while maintaining a caring and inclusive approach.
- Be skilled at building positive relationships with pupils, staff and families.
- Have experience delivering or supporting interventions.
- Be committed to safeguarding, inclusion and pupil wellbeing.
- Be willing to go the extra mile to ensure the best outcomes for every child.
