The Governing Body of Roberttown CE (VC) J & I School are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, conscientious, highly motivated and capable caretaker who will have a key role in the maintenance and development of our school. We are looking for someone with a good range of skills and school caretaking experience including building and grounds maintenance, general DIY, security and cleaning. The successful candidate will work closely with the Headteacher and School Business Manager to ensure that pupils, staff, governors and visitors are able to work in a welcoming, clean and safe environment.
Our Ideal Candidate Will Be:
- Hard working and reliable who will play a key part in maintaining and improving our school environment and who will have a sense of pride in their role and in our school.
- Capable of maintaining high standards of workmanship within the school and competent and confident in carrying out building maintenance work i.e. minor plumbing, repairs, joinery etc. in an efficient and safe manner to a high standard.
- Able to organise and prioritise work effectively.
- Aware of health and safety requirements and able to identify any health and safety risks and deal with them accordingly.
- Able to work on their own initiative and be proactive.
- Has experience of supervising staff and working with contractors.
You Will Need To:
- Have practical experience that will enable you to fix and mend as required.
- Be able to carry out a wide range of physical tasks that will include lifting and carrying, working at heights etc.
- Be enthusiastic and helpful towards staff and children.
- Be open to training that will enable you to fulfil the role.
- Have an understanding of H.A.S.A.W and C.O.S.H.H.
