Advert Wording: Are you a passionate and experienced social work professional ready to lead a dynamic team supporting young people transitioning from care to adulthood? Having recently reviewed our Care Leavers Service we have secured additional investment to create two new Team Manager roles to further improve our management and leadership support across the Care Leavers Service. We are seeking Team Managers to be part of our leadership team in our Leaving Care Service, ensuring high-quality, person-centred support for care-experienced young people aged 16–25. This is a pivotal role in shaping futures, promoting independence, and driving positive outcomes.

About The Role:

  • Lead and supervise a team of Personal Advisors and Advanced Personal Advisors.
  • Oversee service delivery in line with statutory responsibilities under the Children (Leaving Care) Act 2000 and related legislation.
  • Champion best practice in pathway planning, safeguarding, and multi‐agency working.
  • Monitor performance, quality assurance, and continuous improvement.
  • Support staff development and wellbeing in a fast‐paced, emotionally rewarding environment.

You will have experience and a good understanding of risk and vulnerability in adolescence and young adults and the ability to support the development of effective risk and vulnerability management plans. You will need to be able to work within a quality assurance framework and to provide good quality support and supervision for staff. Above all, you will need sound, consistent decision‐making skills under pressure.

About You:

  • A qualified Social Worker (registered with Social Work England).
  • Experienced in working with care‐experienced young people or within children's services.
  • A confident leader with strong decision‐making, communication, and organisational skills.
  • Committed to anti‐oppressive practice, inclusion, and trauma‐informed approaches.
  • Skilled in managing complex cases and supporting staff through challenge and change.
