Job Overview
Salary: £15,019 – £15,353.30 pro rata (Full Time Equivalent £26,966 – £27,566)
Location: Multiple sites – Waterfront and Pioneer centres, Kirklees College
Hours: 24 hours a week, 38 weeks per year (Classroom delivery 8:30am – 9pm)

Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare and deliver group learning activities within and outside the classroom with input from tutors.
- Identify individual SEND needs through initial assessments and complete inclusion plans for others to follow.
- Work with adult learners and apprentices with SEND to improve their literacy and numeracy skills.
- Collaborate with other areas of the college to support a whole-college SEND approach.
- Maintain flexibility to accommodate the 38‑week curriculum and classroom delivery times.
- Commit to safeguarding and promote the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults.
Qualifications
- Teaching Assistant qualification or willingness to work towards one.
- Previous experience in a post‑16 environment with learners with additional learning needs.
- Minimum Level 2 in Literacy and Numeracy.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to encourage high aspirations.
- Capacity to manage change and work collaboratively across the college.
- Demonstrated commitment to the college values of Kindness, Unity and Excellence.
