Kirklees Waste and Recycling service has 3 depots across Huddersfield (2 in Huddersfield and one in Dewsbury) and a Head office in Huddersfield Town Centre itself; all are within walking distance of a train station. The depots are also a short drive from the M62 at different Junctions, making them highly accessible for applicants from across the Northwest and Yorkshire.
Job Description:
- Provide purpose and direction to teams delivering street‑based services including refuse collection, recycling, and street cleaning.
- Drive culture change in resource deployment to ensure services focus on the community’s needs and deliver excellent value for money within your allocated area.
- Manage commercial waste activity, maximise income streams, develop existing customer base, and develop policy within the remit as appropriate to ensure services are delivered economically, effectively, efficiently, safely, and productively in line with Council policies, service objectives and relevant legislation.
- Maintain effective communication with other council services, trade unions, front line employees and Councillors, chairing and attending various meetings and forums.
