About The Role

Our Support Services team underpins everything we do in Kirklees Libraries. The role involves overseeing procurement and financial processes, maintaining library databases, communicating with suppliers, providing administrative and project support, and assisting the senior team in delivering key service priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee procurement and financial processes to keep essential processes moving.
  • Maintain and update library databases and service records.
  • Communicate with suppliers and partners to coordinate orders and contracts.
  • Provide administrative and project support to colleagues across the library service.
  • Assist the senior team in delivering key service priorities and targets.

Other Role Requirements

  • Motivation and a willingness to learn to use service‑specific IT systems.
  • Appropriate business and administration skills and a level of literacy to produce routine documentation.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritise tasks and manage own workload.

What We’re Looking For

  • Strong administrative and organisational skills.
  • Confidence using IT systems and working with data.
  • Ability to manage several tasks at once while maintaining accuracy.
  • Clear communication and good teamwork with colleagues, suppliers and partners.
  • Flexibility to meet the needs of the service.

Experience with finance or procurement systems (e.g. SAP) is an advantage, but full training will be provided.
