- Salary: NJC Scale SCP 14‐21 (£29,540 – £33,143 pro rata) starting at SCP 14, increasing to SCP 15 after successful probation
Role Overview:
The Dad Matters Co‐ordinator will support the delivery of the Dad Matters programme in Kirklees, working in partnership with health partners in community outreach locations, including clinical environments. The role involves delivering universal and targeted interventions aimed at male parents in the first 1001 days, supporting dads and other male carers with attachment and bonding, mental health and access to services.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver a range of universal and targeted interventions to male parents.
- Engage and support dads in one‐to‐one and group situations.
- Ensure parent‐infant relationships remain a thread through every interaction with dads.
- Raise awareness of mental health risks for fathers and the impact of perinatal mental health issues on fathers.
- Develop close links with health partners and voluntary agencies in Kirklees.
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in the workplace.
Essential Requirements:
- Good interpersonal, motivational and communication skills.
- Experience engaging male parents (applying particularly for men with parenting experience).
- Ability to work collaboratively with health partners and voluntary agencies.
