Housing Solutions Officers – Advice & Assessment & Young People & Support

Join Kirklees Council in a permanent role as a Housing Solutions Officer (Grade 7‑9). The position is based across Kirklees and offers a salary of £29,540 to £37,280 per annum, 37 hours per week.

Responsibilities

  • Liaise directly with customers to understand and address their housing needs.
  • Develop creative and innovative solutions to help resolve housing challenges.
  • Work closely with internal and external partners to ensure other support needs (health, education, employment, learning) are met.
  • Support the advice and assessment (A&A) team working with individuals aged 25+ and families, and the young people and support (YP&S) team providing bespoke services to young people.
  • Maintain accurate housing records and contribute to service improvement.

Qualifications

  • Highly motivated, self‑sufficient and organised, with a strong commitment to helping vulnerable people.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to build and maintain partnership relationships.
  • Experience in housing, homelessness, or social care services is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Capacity to work flexibly and manage multiple priorities in a challenging environment.
