Overview

You will work within a supportive and experienced team dedicated to helping adults maintain their health and wellbeing with an emphasis on meeting short‑term support needs. This role is primarily within the STUST Response Team, but you will be expected to work across Kirklees as required. You will manage a team providing short‑term urgent support to achieve positive outcomes for service users, coordinate visits, and ensure high‑quality service delivery. You will also establish and maintain relationships with service users, relatives, and other professionals, and be passionate about developing your team through ongoing training and feedback.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate the team to deliver short‑term urgent support to service users.
  • Ensure quality support is provided and exceeds Care Quality Commission expectations and standards.
  • Plan and schedule work, including co‑ordination of resources, and maintain effective record keeping.
  • Provide first point of contact for service users and manage a dispersed workforce on the telephone during out‑of‑hours service.
  • Maintain calm and composed demeanour when handling complex or demanding queries.

Requirements

  • High level of understanding of Adult Social Care and a commitment to promoting and maximizing service user independence.
  • Possession of NVQ Level 3 in care or a relevant qualification, or willingness to undertake such training.
  • Proficient IT skills and experience with computer packages such as Microsoft Word, Access, and Excel.
  • Understanding of relevant legislation, guidance, and Government agendas.
  • Ability and willingness to work flexibly on a rolling rota (4 days on and 4 days off over a 16‑week period) with a 7% salary enhancement.
  • Full and valid driving licence; the role requires use of a car for most of the time.
  • Experience of schedule patterns including 8 weeks 7am – 16:15pm and 8 weeks 12:45pm – 22:00pm.
  • Requires a DBS check at the appropriate level.
